We Will Stand in Solidarity

We have witnessed the systemic silencing and erasing of women and girls in Afghanistan. We sensed a Holy invitation to stand with them. We have also been reminded by our Afghan sisters that we had the privilege and distance to speak out publicly while they did not. They implored us to do so.

This was only the beginning…

As we were prayerfully trying to move in obedience with the Spirit to stand with our sisters as events unfolded on the other side of the world, we were confronted with that same demonic spirit of oppression and silencing being exposed through clergy sexual abuse right here in North America.

WOMEN MUST BE HEARD!

How Do We Do This?

1. Public Prayer Days

Thursdays are to be a day of prayer (lament and fasting) - anytime and anywhere, but consider prayer walks, public places, and praying visibly (this is something our sisters in Afghanistan and other places around the world cannot do. So, we do it for them).

2. Monthly Global Zoom Calls

The last Thursday of every month there will be a global zoom call to pray for women in Afghanistan and victims of violence, patriarchy, and misogyny (we are using the name Hagar to represent them).

We will meet at 9:00am PST | 10:00am MST | 11:00am CST | 12:00pm EST | 1:00pm AST | 5:00pm GMT.

3. Wear Black Every Thursday

We will all wear BLACK on Thursdays as we pray in public as evidence of our solidarity with women who are suffering and as a visible lament.
